What is emotional wellbeing and mental health?

‘Emotional wellbeing describes your mental state – how you are feeling and how well you can cope with day-to-day life. Emotional wellbeing is essential for us to function and be happy. Mental health is defined as a ‘state of well-being in which every individual realises his or her own potential.’

How do we promote well-being at West Park Primary School?

At West Park Primary School, we promote well-being through a dedicated team of staff, partnerships with external agencies and support from parents. Well-being has been identified as a key focus in school.

Within school, various members of staff work together to provide emotional well-being education and support to children, parents and staff.

An introduction of mindfulness lessons will help children to build resilience, recognise and begin to cope with everyday worries and anxieties and help them to see themselves and others with friendliness.
