    West Park School promotes healthy eating at both playtime and lunchtime.  Children are able to enjoy a healthy snack at playtime and healthy packed lunches are also promoted.  Our school cook Dawn, follows a healthy school menu.  This includes our weekly “Fruity Friday”.

    The school curriculum also promotes healthy eating through cross curricular planning.  This would include planning, making and eating healthy sandwiches.  We also harvest our own produce from the school allotments and grounds.  Dawn is able to make delicious deserts such as bramble and apple crumble and use produce such as our harvested carrots in our Christmas Cakes.

    Children are encouraged to bring water bottles into class which they have access to throughout their day.  Parents are reminded to provide suitable water bottles, through our school newsletter.

    As well as “Fruity Friday”, we also promote other fitness and health campaigns such as “Walk on Wednesday”.
